Burlish Camp and Rifle Range Heritage Projects 2012 and 2014

Wyre Forest District Council and partners gained Heritage Lottery finding for two projects in 2012 and 2014.

Both projects aimed to recognise and expand interest in the Wyre Forest District Nature Reserves by adding information, commemoration and restoration of the Historical features of the reserves.

The Burlish Camp Project celebrated the use of that site in World War Two by American forces as a training camp and a hospital.

The Devils Spittleful, Rhydd and Wyre at War Project celebrated the long history of military use of the Rifle Range site from 1900 to the 1960’s.burlish_camp
